John Lohr

John Lohr farms in Canning, Nova Scotia with his wife Heather and 4 sons. In 1997 he studied herb drying and vegetable production in Europe for his Nuffield scholarship. This contributed to buying out his distributer in 1999 and becoming vertically integrated in summer savory production, packaging and distribution.

Farmer Johns Herbs now produces 45 spice mix products, packaged and bulk summer savory as well as being a certified organic processor. The marketing focus is to create the flavors of “the Maritimes” and includes chowders, dips, soups and baking mixes.
