The Selection Process
Nuffield Canada searches out enthusiastic individuals with a passion for agriculture and a desire to expand your knowledge, pursue new ideas and to share your findings with others.
Applicants are sought in mid career between the ages of 25 and 45 (although exceptions are made) and must have a minimum of 5 years ag business/farming experience, plus the management ability to step away from their current duties.
The Scholar must travel for a minimum of ten weeks, with a minimum leg of six consecutive weeks. Scholarships are not for those involved in full time study nor for the purpose of furthering research projects.
There are no prerequisites of education or past awards, only the pledge that this opportunity will be used to contribute to and innovate agriculture in Canada.
Applicants are required to complete the Nuffield Scholarship Application by April 30. After review of the applications the Nuffield Scholarship Selection Committee conducts interviews with potential candidates assessing their candidacy and proposed area of study. Scholarships are then awarded by July 30.
This year, Nuffield Canada is pleased to offer two national scholarships, one of which is sponsored by Glacier FarmMedia. In addition to this, Grain Farmers of Ontario is sponsoring a Nuffield Scholarship as well. To qualify for this scholarship, the candidate’s study must benefit the Ontario Grain Sector.
Applications for the Nuffield Canada Scholarship must be received by the secretary no later than April 30.
